Why First Endurance?

I choose to use First Endurance because I want to fuel my body the with the best sports supplements out there.  First Endurance only uses the highest quality ingredients in their products and I don’t have to worry about any cross contamination.  After trying Ultragen you will never use any other recovery drinks.  The final piece is that it is excellent to not have to add extra electrolytes or calories to my race nutrition with my EFS drink and liquid shot in hand.

My Xterra/Olympic Nutrition Plan

My 70.3 Nutrition Plan

Lead up to race day:  Leading up to the race I generally try to cut down my caloric intake a bit with the volume and intensity decrease from training.  I drink 1-2 bottles of EFS depending on climate, outside of training nutrition.  My meals are simple with breakfast being a bowl of oatmeal and 3 egg omelet, lunch a sandwich and salad, and dinner will usually be a lean protein and quinoa salad with ice cream for dessert (it helps you swim faster)

Race Morning Breakfast: Oatmeal with peanut or other nut butter and honey or brown sugar, banana, 2-3 scrambled eggs scrambled with cheese.

Xterra and Olympic Distance Nutrition:

XTERRA and non-drafting Olympic Nutrition Plan

Pre-Swim/Transition Set Up:  I sip on two bottles of fluid, 1 water, 1 EFS 3/4 strength, and take 2-3 Pre-Race capsules 30min prior to the start.
Bike: 2 bottles with 1.5 scoops of EFS either Orange or Grape, 1 Liquid Shot 3/4 full topped with water, in hot and humid conditions grab 1 to 2 bottles of on course liquids
Run: 1/2 to 3/4 full  Liquid Shot depending on estimated run time (XTERRA Runs can go 10-15min longer than Olympic road runs) topped with water and then 1-2 cups of on course liquid at aid station
Post Race Recovery: Within 30 min 1 bottle of Ultragen

70.3 Nutrition Plan-This is still to be decided as I haven’t done one in a few years.

Pre-Swim/Transition Set Up:  I sip on two bottles of fluid, 1 water, 1 EFS 3/4 strength, 1/2 Liquid Shot, 30 min out from start take 2-3 Pre-Race capsules.
Bike: 2 bottles with 2 scoops of EFS either Orange or Grape, 2 Liquid Shots, grab 2 bottles of on course liquids and more as conditions warrant.
Run: 1 Liquid Shot and then 1-2 cups of on course liquid at aid station and more calories if required.
Post Race Recovery: Within 30 min 1 bottle of Ultragen
