“When I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, my Doctor told me to find another sport because I wasn’t able to do an endurance sport. I proved him wrong."
BIOGRAPHY
My name is Valentina Chacin, I was born in Venezuela but raised in Miami FL. When I am not on my bike I am a full time Real Estate Agent. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 21 and I race my bike to share awareness of the condition and to show other Type 1’s you can do whatever you set your mind to. I founded a Non-Profit Organization called Extra Sweet where we educate on Diabetes and collect funds to provide medical supplies to families with no resources.
