Why First Endurance?
I started using First Endurance because of the quality of raw ingredients. I know each ingredient has a Certificate of Analysis and states active ingredient rather than just ground up filler product. I also know that each of the vendors are inspected for quality of processing. These rigorous standards that FE sets makes me trust the product, coupled with the fact the products work for me with adventures lasting up to 12 days. FE is a complete system and simplifies my choices come race day.
Running Nutrition Plan
For days less than 70 degrees and relatively low humidity I will carry one 20 oz bottle filled with water and a 1/2 flask (200 calories) of Kona Mocha EFS liquid shot. One bottle will last roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes and provides all the calories and electrolytes I will need the entire day. Most times I can do a 50 mile race on 4 bottles total (800 calories). In addition, I will take one to two glasses full of water at every aid station to keep the stomach open and fluids going. I have pre-made bottles at designated aid stations.
For days greater than 70 degrees or high humidity I will carry two 20 oz bottles; one filled with water and one scoop of EFS grape drink, the other one filled with 1/2 flask (200 calories) of Kona Mocha EFS liquid shot. The EFS grape drink will generally last 2 hours while the EFS liquid shot will last an hour 45. I still take in one or two cups of water at every aid station.
Within 10 minutes of finishing I will down one 20 oz bottle of Orange Dream Ultragen. Sometimes, because it tastes so good, I will down another.
