Why First Endurance?

I am a type-A, data driven person and use First Endurance because of the overwhelming level of supporting evidence they have to stand behind their products. First Endurance delivers a very high quality product suite that encompasses all facets of an athletic lifestyle to ensure I am able to achieve my full potential in training and on race day.

Ironman & 70.3 Race Day Nutrition Plan:

Breakfast:
I wake up at least three hours prior to race start and eat 2.5 cups of organic apple sauce, protein, and a banana. I will drink 24 oz of EFS (orange or lemon lime – 2 scoops) and then sip on water up until the race start.
Pre-Race:
Will take three PreRace caps 30 minutes prior to the start of the swim and ~1oz of EFS Liquid Shot (mountain huckleberry or wild berry) 15 minutes prior to the start of the swim.
Bike:
Once I am settled on my bike, I immediately consume ~1oz of EFS Liquid Shot and will continue to take ~1oz every 30 minutes. I may prolong this time period for more hot, humid races where my fluid intake is increased. In additional to the Liquid Shots, I will drink 4-5 bottles of EFS (2 scoops each) during a 70.3 and almost double that during a full Ironman. I use water at aid stations to spray myself down and keep the core temperature low.
Run:
I prefer to carry a 20oz bottle of EFS (1-1.5 scoops, more diluted for the run) during the run using an ultramarathon bottle. I do not like relying on 1 mile intervals for fluid. I will typically go through one full bottle during a 70.3 and will consume 2-3 during an Ironman depending on conditions. On top of fluid, I will continue to take ~1oz of Liquid Shot every 30 mins, usually around mile 2 and 8.
Post Race:
I will drink 24oz of Ultragen within 30 minutes of finishing the race and continue drinking water and EFS until I am fully re-hydrated.
