Ironman 70.3 Nutrition Plan

 48 Hours Prior to Race:

  •  gluten free, dairy free, red meat free. Eating normally other than this. Monterrey and California were not very hot races.

Day of Race:

  • 3 hrs before race: a pretty big serving of oatmeal with almond butter and maple syrup (700 calories)
  • 1 hr before race: beet juice (4 oz of water with beet juice powder)
  • 15 minutes pre-swim: 100 cal Liquid Shot plus Pre-Race & water
  • On bike: 2 x bottle of EFS (350-400 calories) the 2nd one with Pre-Race mixed in, 1 liquid shot (200 cals), & 1  bottle of water
  • On run: 200 cals of EFS Liquid Shot plus water at aid stations
  • Post race: 1 x serving of Ultragen
