What’s your favorite quote and where did you first hear it?
“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.” - Steve Prefontaine

What’s the best training advice you’ve ever received and who gave it to you?
There’s no magic substitute for the work.  You just have to do it.

How did you get started in your sport?
I grew up in rural Upstate New York, and it was incredibly easy to ride and explore quiet roads with my dad.  I ended up getting connected with the local club in Albany, NY (Capital Bicycle Racing Club - “CBRC”).  They gave me a jersey, taught me how to ride in a group, and let me know where all the races were.  That community gave me the start to eventually climb through the ranks and to compete as a professional.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Oddly enough, I wanted to work at a hockey rink and be a zamboni driver.

Proudest sporting moment? Proudest life moment?
Finishing 12th at the 2022 Cyclocross World Championships in Fayetteville, AR, USA. I’ve been lucky enough to represent the USA at 11 World Championships, and two of those have been on home soil. To piece together a strong performance in front of so many people who have supported my efforts in sport was really special.

Guilty pleasure food item?
Carrot cake.

Where is your “happy” place?
In the woods, on two wheels.

Who is your favorite band or artist and their best album and song?
Bruce Sprintsteen - No Surrender

Finish this sentence: “The world would be a better place if….”
…everyone rode a bike.

When I’m not riding/running or otherwise crushing it in my sport, you’ll find me:
Outside, being active in some way.  Hiking, fishing, or some other sport.

Two truths and a lie about me: (in no particular order)
1. I’m left handed.
2. I’m colorblind.
3. I prefer to sit in the middle seat on a long flight.
